New Tosh.0 Tonight on Comedy Central
by NONPOPULIST / comedy / pranks / Tosh.0 / TV / YouTubage / Comments

I’m a fan of both internet video-based television shows Tosh.0 and Web Soup, but let’s face it, the edge goes to Daniel Tosh because of his personality and the “Web Redemption” segments. That’s right, Daniel, I called you ugly. The web redemption is cool because he goes and meets the people who make the viral video moments we cherish so dearly and squeezes a few more jokes out of them. New episodes begin tonight, Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010 at 10:30 EST on Comedy Central. To celebrate tonight’s new episode I present a video of a bit I saw on his show called “fire in the hole!”

The Coke Zero & Mentos Rocket Car
by BRAD JACKSON / Comments
Many a video has been made of people playing on the Coke and Mentos craze, coming up with all kinds of crazy contraptions, and Rube Goldberg machines powered by the fizzy duo. Hell, the Myth Busters have dedicated multiple episodes to the stuff, but no one though, no one, has done this before.
It’s a Coke Zero and Mentos Rocket Car!
New Jonah Hex Trailer Featuring Dynamite Gun and Sweaty Megan Fox
by NONPOPULIST / comic books / Jonah Hex / Megan Fox / movie trailers / movies / teh sexy / Comments

O, you better believe there will be explosions and Megan Fox looking hot and sweaty. The marketing people behind Jonah Hex know they have a long hill to climb after the early buzz has this movie billed as this year’s Snakes on a Plane, and they try to make up some ground with this trailer. I don’t know, the way I heard people talk about it last go around I thought it was a Syfy network movie. This trailer doesn’t look horrible. Would both Josh Brolin and John Malkovich both sign on to a bad movie? Wait, Righteous Kill, Pacino, De Niro, never mind. Does it bother anyone else that Brolin’s character has a chewing tobacco eaten away face like the coach character on The Cleveland Show? It’s so unnerving. I guess this movie is based on a graphic novel or something as if I care about that nerdy crap. I guess it’s better than being based on a novel by Sapphire, but only slightly. Also, a big plus showing plenty of shots of Megan Fox and her possibly riding someone. That’s a smooth move, guys, honestly. Ever since she has been fired/quit from the newest Transformers movie she has been seeming much more attractive to me. Weird. Here’s the newest trailer.

Handy Guide to Television Season Finales
Michael Ausiello at Entertainment Weekly has an index of all the major broadcast network show’s season finales coming up soon. I thought this was extremely handy and thought I should share it with you. Wait, I said major networks, but he included the CW. Disregard the CW. Among the highlights is the May 24th 24 finale which will be a 2-hour series finale as well.
THREADLibrary of Congress Archiving More Than Just Tweets
It was widely reported this week The Library of Congress will begin archiving messages posted on twitter. Great, now future generations will have the precious knowledge you had an everything bagel with cream cheese for breakfast and then went on a run. What was lost in the LOC announcement was they have already been caching online data since 2000. The Library also operates the” National Digital Information Infrastructure and Preservation Program www.digitalpreservation.gov, which is pursuing a national strategy to collect, preserve and make available significant digital content, especially information that is created in digital form only, for current and future generations.” Uh-oh.
THREAD‘The Wire’ to Air on Direct TV’s 101 Network
Good news for people who have Direct TV and have not seen The Wire: The 101 Network on Direct TV will show The Wire uncut and commercial free beginning July 18, 2010. The 101 may not have much original programming, but the network is starting to be known for a strong lineup of premium cable shows people may have missed the first time around due to not wanting to pay for networks like HBO and Showtime. The network also features The Dan Patrick Show on weekday mornings and airs a good selection of concerts. As a Direct TV subscriber myself I find myself watching or recording programs on the network fairly often.
