Even God Needs a Burrito Sometimes

This amazing new image from NASA’s Chandra X-Ray observatory supposedly shows the results of a supernova in the Circinus constellation from 18,700 years ago.

But, let’s be honest here. Even God gets the munchies, and right now, the man is hungry for some cosmic Chipotle.

Mmmm… burrito!

Even President Obama Dislikes Jay Leno

The annual White House Correspondent’s Dinner was held last Saturday, May 1st, and as with many of these events in the past there were some genuinely funny moments. Nothing will ever top MC Rove from a few years ago, though. That Youtube clip should be inducted into some sort of video clip hall of fame. Normally at the dinner there is a featured comedian or group of comedians and the president also does a “set” of jokes. Stephen Colbert has done it in the past as have many other big names, but this year’s host was Jay Leno, the current ire of America. Does anyone seriously like Jay Leno? My theory is the “ratings” The New/Old and Not Improved Tonight Show is getting are people that are falling asleep and unwittingly leaving on NBC. President Obama’s writers for the Correspondent’s Dinner apparently share everyone’s dislike as they wrote some golden jabs for the president to direct at Jay Leno. The two best lines were:

“I’m glad the only person who’s ratings have fallen further than mine this year is here tonight…hello Jay”.

“I’m also glad I’m speaking first, because we’ve seen what happens when someone takes the time slot after Leno’s”.

BOOM, ROASTED. All Jay could do was sit there and take it. What a beautiful moment. Thank you, Mr. President. Watch the video below. The president spoke first, and that is the only portion worth watching.

The Bat is Back

by BRAD JACKSON / / / / / / / Comments

It’s official, the third movie in Christopher Nolan’s reboot of Batman is headed to theaters in July of 2012. We don’t have a lot of details on the sequel to the critically acclaimed super blockbuster mega-hit “Dark Knight,” other than the working title (which is so creative I might add) - Batman 3.

Summer 2012 will also feature the followup to JJ Abrams’ the Star Trek, Marvel’s The Avengers, and the next reincarnation of another superhero you may have heard of - Spiderman.

It’s gonna be a great summer at the movies kids!

This Will Please Nerds Greatly

There is growing support for the hobbit to be listed as an official species. Sean Astin must be thrilled to be in the news again. I think this is science’s way of atoning for declassifying Pluto as a planet. The nerds were getting a little too restless.

Cake vs. Pie. No Contest.

An in-depth comparison between two classic desserts finds a decisive victory in favor of pie. Check the methodology if you wish, but it looks pretty legit to me.

Good Thing Reagan Didn’t Live To Meet This Man

I can’t write this guy’s old name on this blog and I can’t write out what he changed his name to either, but both are rather strong words on condemnation to government policies. They’re also quite entertaining. Somehow I don’t think he eats out much, but I’d like to be there when he leaves his name with the hostess.
